As a main goal of our use of DAM is asset protection, I’m confused as to why downloads of derivative sizes from the Bynder asset bank don’t retain any of the embedded metadata. They do retain the keywords/tags, but none of the creator or copyright information (copyright being one of the more concerning fields). Is this a bug, or is this the way the system is meant to function? 

While the auto-tagging feature is helpful overall, it often applies tags that are contextually inaccurate, which negatively impacts search accuracy.For example, we have a beer called "Pilsner", but when users search for it, the results include any beer labeled as a pilsner-style (like Miller Lite - because the word “pilsner” is on the packaging), even if it's not the specific product they're looking for. This causes confusion and erodes trust in the system's ability to return relevant results.We need the ability to manually delete or override AI-generated tags when they are not relevant. This would help us maintain more accurate metadata and ensure a better user experience. 

Hi,Has something changed in Bynder? We are using the automatically created thumbnail /thul/ derivative for our website.  But since this week this has stopped working, getting the notice the assets are not public. However these assets have never been public and the past five years we have never had an issue showing the thumbnail derivative. Has anything changed and if so, can we change this back ourselves so we don’t have to change thousands of links. 

Hi, I am working on a staging site (which is password protected at the moment) for a new news site. I am trying to test Bynder and made a new OAuth app similar to our existing live sites (berkeleyside.org, oaklandside.org), however when making a test post and tyring to access our Bynder assests via the compact view, the “enter your domain” field is disabled. I registered a new app in Bynder OAuth settings and added the domain there, and added the new clientID and secret to the WP settings page for Bynder, but that did not work. I read all the knowldege base articles I coudl find. I am wondering if this is because of the password protection on the staging site. Any ideas?I can’t enter anything in that field.  

Starting today many PDFs in our Library the preview feature does not work like it should.  Anyone else having this issue?

We are working on a requirement to do customized reports using Power BI using the Bynder BI Analytics API. Have anyone done this? and can you share the steps on how you were able to integrate Power BI to the Bynder APIs.  

We need Bynder to have features to handle responsive image loading: anything like Device Pixel Ratio dpr (https://docs.imgix.com/apis/rendering/pixel-density/dpr) or https://docs.imgix.com/tutorials/responsive-images-srcset-imgixusing dynamic SRC sets. It would suck if we had to manually calculate doubling pixels for every one of our images because we want them to be 2x, not 1x. Can you help?

We currently have an integration that sync’s content from Bynder, however, we have recently encountered issue specifically relating to MP4 files API responses being inconsistent. Specifically, the FileSize data type tends to change from an integer to a string once the file becomes larger than normal. 

Hello - we are seeing some inconsistencies with the API that I have not been able to replicate successfully. In our logs I am seeing occasional responses from the API /media endpoint where metadata properties come back with all metadata options Even though the media item does not have all metadata options I then grab the asset ID from the logs and manually hit the endpoint with the same asset ID / same request  In these cases I always see the expected response

Is anyone else having trouble with the Android mobile app?  It won’t even launch for me on a Samsung Galaxy S25 running all the latest OS updates.  I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling it and still nothing.  I’ve also noticed that the Asset Bank no longer functions on the mobile Chrome or Safari Browsers, which is also 😥.

Integrated Universal compact view in my magento2 site.I have a metaproperty called Magento_Asset with two options: “Yes” and “No.”. My requirement is to only display assets where Magento_Asset = "Yes" in compact view.I attempted to use predefinedMetapropertiesOptions, which successfully applies the filter when the Compact View loads. However, users are still able to remove this filter manually — which I want to prevent.Is there a supported way to enforce a filter on the Compact View so that only images with Magento_Asset = "Yes" are shown, and the user cannot remove or modify this filter? 

The upload API’s documentation is rather confusing. My team and I are attempting to upload media onto bynder, and we have gotten stuck multiple times. Our team has identified a use case where it would be valuable to notify any user that has downloaded an asset when a newer version is uploaded.From what I’ve seen, the webhooks out of the box for the email or email-json options are great but only allows one email and don’t want to add a wide audience that will get blasted each time a new version is updated.Are there any options to explore with the API that can pull a list of emails once an asset is updated?

Hi Team,I am trying to integrate, bynder compact view npm package (@bynder/compact-view) in my react application. The version of react used is v18.0.2. I followed the same approach as mentioned in the page: https://www.npmjs.com/package/@bynder/compact-view. I did not get any errors but the component didn't show up inside the application, while I was able to see the code for compact view loaded in the developer tools. I tried to change the CSS properties, still didn't work.However, the same code worked when I used it with react v17.0.2

Hi Team, My team is building an integration with Bynder that, on install, is creating a webhook to sync assets/asset updates to our platform. We’ve hit an issue where, on calling the ‘create webhook’ api, v7/webhooks/public/api/subscriptions, Bynder returns a 403 error. We have ensured that our oauth app has create webhook permissions and the user authorizing does as well. Any idea what might cause this? Any guidance would be much appreciated!

Our team plans on automating the uploading of our photography projects.For this, I am using the Python SDK to upload assets to Bynder and set some keywords.Most parts are working; I can login with my token, create a Collection, upload my assets, set tags and metaproperties.What I am unable to do isadd Additional Files (eg add a PDF that relates to a DNG) add relationships between assetsThe API feature set appears to be incomplete. Even if I cannot use the Python SDK for this functionality, I should be able to use the API - pure http requests() calls.

I have configured a webhook that emails me a JSON file for asset_bank.media.create and asset_bank.media.updated for our portal.I manage these emails with rules in outlook so they don’t get in the way of my day to day. I then use a Microsoft365 Power Automate flow that runs every few hours that analyses the emails in my email and sends out a summary of the key changes that my users are interested in.The whole thing works quite nicely for what I need and is far more customisable than what I can currently get out of the box with Bynder. My only gripe is some unusual behaviour of which I don’t understand.For some reason an uploaded set of images, like below:filename-1.jpg filename-2.jpg filename-3.jpg filename-4.jpgWill randomly and sporadically drop the original file name and report on the filename of it’s derivative like below:DAT-filename-4.WEBP filename-3.jpg filename-1.jpg filename-2.jpgLooking through the archive of reports, in the above case “filename-4.jpg” was never reported on, o

I'm wondering if others are having this issue with the new scrolling asset action bar. We didn't know this change was happening and when it did we couldn't find all the buttons. The floating "action bar" is so much harder to see amidst our assets. To us, it makes much more sense to have the “add to collections,” “share,” “download” buttons in the same place as everything else users click on to sort the assets. In the attached you can see where it used to be versus where it is now. What do others think? Thanks!

I know that there is a setting to show source Workflow on the asset, but I was thinking maybe it would be useful to be able search for an asset name in Worfklows?So you can check which Jobs in the campaigns have asset “XYZ” included.   

Hello Bynder RnD Team, For Media Audit purpose, we would like to preserve Bynder System taxonomy ‘watermark date’ once watermark is applied from ‘Advanced Rights’ section.At least, watermark date assigned by our business stakeholders should have been visible from bynder API /media/. Just a timesaving issue for me, but I think allot of admins would benefit from this.It would be great when you add a metaproperty with like say 60 options, and they all have the same automation, just the metaproperty option is changed. Why am I wasting so much time doing this repeated task 60 times? Just let me copy the automation, change the option, and repeat. Or even better copy automation and set for all options, or even better yet let me select for which options I’d like to apply the automation.

Hi, I’m working on embedding the UI component (https://developer-docs.bynder.com/ui-components) into my website, however, I want to change the text of the “Add asset” button for something more suitable for my use case, like “Download asset”. I checked the documentation and didn’t find an option to do so. Would it be possible to change it?   

We use groups to control what content users can see or not see. But sometimes it can be hard to tell what that breakdown is. It is easy to see what permissions are assigned to each profile under the permission management section, but Is there something similar for Groups? Someplace where I could see what metaproperties are set for each group? If not, that would be extremely helpful in managing access to content at the group level and being able to quickly see what has been set rather then trying to guess and hunt within each metaproperty.
