Question

Can I count the amount of Downloads?

Hi People!

I’m creating ads on different kind of platforms like reddit, linkedin, etc for our company.
Often we struggle with providing the asset and count the rare amount of downloads on our website due to the GDPR.

I was wondering if it's possible within bynder share to simply create a download link, put it in the ad and somehow can be notified or count in bynder how many people used the download? I don’t care about the lead information like name etc - the total amount of downloads would be enough for me in most cases.

Looking forward to your ideas :)

Cheers!

Hello, you could create a custom link and use the public url, the times a custom link is clicked could count as a download. And that’s tracked in analytics.

Hi Danny, so you mean I create within our tracking tool a custom link, which leads to the public url (= the bynder share download url) - did I understand correctly?

I’m not too much in these technical details thats why I would appreciate a short confirmation :)

Cheers

Bynder has an option to create custom links: https://support.bynder.com/hc/en-us/articles/21861490210450-How-To-Create-And-Manage-Custom-Links

if you have the add in your portal, you can find in the info panel a public link, like below:

You use that link to create a custom link, that custom link is then tracked by bynder when someone clicks on that link.

does that help?

Hi Danny,

thanks, that helps. There is just one thing i don’t get: In your screenshot, there is written “Link to public files”. I can only see in the Info-Panel “Link to files” without the “public”. As a result, it transfers people to the log-in page of the Data Management System and not to the pdf.

Do you have an idea where i can find the “link to files” only?

Hello, could that be either a rights issue, that you can’t see it, or it might a portal setting, that your portal doesn’t have any public files available. If you are not an admin, ask your admin, if you are, I suggest ask support. As I have no idea how your portal is setup. :)

Thanks Danny, i found out that the button appears as soon as I hit “public asset”. It is a bit buggy bc it doesnt always save my setting, that was the obstacle. Now, everything is clear. I’m curious to find out if there are more tips within bynder which could be benefitial for my advertising purposes. If you have sth in mind, would be great if you get let me know.

Otherwise, thanks a lot! :)

@Advertiger well that’s a really broad question, it depends on what you are trying to achieve. There are lots of tips here in the communitiy. The best way I’d say is ask the community, someone will bound to have an answer or suggestion. All our use cases can be so diverse. 😊
