I am excited to share that we’ll post the questions from our quarterly roadmap webinar, with responses from the Product team, directly in the Community. We don’t always get to answer every question in the live sessions, so we want to provide more chances to ask and answer!

Here’s a quick look at some of the product highlights-

  • New self-service portal theming

  • Group management usability improvements

  • Approvals and personal uploads in Studio

You can find the full video here.

Can’t attend the live webinar next week? No worries! Ask your questions below in the thread and we’ll tag you in the response.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined the Q2 Roadmap webinar! After a successful day off yesterday for King’s Day, we’ve been hard at work finding the answers to your questions from the product team. You can expect the answers to continue to roll in into next week too.

“When will we be able to download just a metadata export from Bynder (without downloading assets)?”

The Product Manager, @Kevin Duque, shared that this is currently planned for an upcoming release.

“Do we plan to update the file formats available in Studio?”

@Maarten Boon responded:
Yes, we are currently working on derivative support within Studio. Feel free to keep an eye on the Roadmap here.

"Are you planning to introduce a duplicate finder for asset types other than images ie. Font Kits or Scripts?"

@Klaas de Bont responded:
The Duplicate Finder at Upload will work for all filetypes. For the existing Duplicate finder, we are currently evaluating this option, and have noted it as a feature request.

“Is it planned in the developement that you can also edit audio better in VBS. For example, to make the background music louder at the beginning and edit the volume in between?”

@Maarten Boon  responded:
Yes, this is currently on the roadmap, although we do not currently have a concrete timeline. Feel free to keep an eye on the Roadmap here.

One customer just asked for more information about Analytics.

Feel free to check out the Analytics section of our Knowledge Base here. I've also shared the question with your CSM as well.

Multi-page designs for Studio is very exciting. I'm curious to hear how that would be different from Print Brand Studio if you are also able to export PDFs from this new Studio tool."

@Maarten Boon said that he would be happy to chat about this in a little more detail. As a high level summary, the initial roll out will include a PDF export for digital usage. The export of print certified PDF's as offered in Print Brand Templates still needs to be determined.

One customer shared a suggested improvement of being able to import new users using csv, with all the columns of the user form.

We've shared this feedback with @Cela.

"Will the duplicate finder work on photos of different formats?"

@Klaas de Bont responded:
The Duplicate Finder at Upload will warn uploaders only if that identical asset exists in the DAM. A similar photo in JPG or PNG is not considered a duplicate at this time.

Just to add, our existing Duplicate Image Finder does allow you to identify similar photos of different formats. It doesn’t do so during upload, but after they’ve been uploaded to your DAM.

“Can we export our whole taxonomy on our own now, or do we still need to request that from Professional Services?”

@Laurens Kalf mentioned that full exports of the taxonomy aren't currently available. However, you are able to export a CSV of metadata for selected assets.

One customer was asking about Collections.

@Allison Stillwell will be following up with you directly to learn a little more.

“Is the collaboration with OpenAi only limited to their txt generation model, or should we expect an image model?”

Great question. At this point, we are doing text generation only first with Content Workflow. Feel free to sign up for our upcoming webinar on Content Workflow below.

We'd love to learn a little more about your use case, so we will be in touch!

“Will the metaproperty search functionality also include the ‘Configuration’ section?”

Not at this time, but thank you so much for the feedback. We've shared this as a feature request with @Laurens Kalf.

“Can we deactivate multiple users at once after the release of the new user management page?”

@Cela indicated that this is currently on the roadmap. Feel free to keep an eye on the Roadmap here.

A customer asked about the scanning methods for content uploaded from the login screen.

@Andrew Matchett responded that we have an upcoming security package that will scan for malicious content from the login screen. Please feel free to reach out to your CSM for more information.

A few customers asked if they could download a CSV of metadata, edit it, then reupload it into the DAM to append or overwrite the existing metadata.

This is not currently possible, although @Kevin Duque responded that they are currently reviewing this as an idea for the roadmap. Feel free to keep an eye on the Roadmap here.

“How will I be able to pull the csv files from my asset metadata?”

@Kevin Duque responded:
You can currently download the assets and include a CSV of the metadata (learn more here). Moving forward, you will be able to download the CSV without having to download the assets.

A customer asked if they'd be able to export the full metadata for all of their assets without the assistance of the Bynder team.

@Kevin Duque responded: It will be possible to download the metadata of a selection of assets in a CSV. The most recent metadata that is available in the portal at the time of download will be included in the CSV file.
