Question

Enable level 1 user to download assets from collection when logged in

Hi Bynder team,

I have a collcection that I publicly shared with my level 1 user colleagues. As they all have a Bynder account, they are automatically logged in and therefore cannot download the assets.

It would be great if there was a way to select which assets they can download without them having to use an incognito window.

Looking forward to a soon implementation.

KR,

Johannes

@Johannes_Grimm Thanks for posting, this is interesting.

Just to clarify, it’s intentional that your level 1 users can only view but not download original assets? And you want to keep that permission setting but allow them to download certain assets?

@Brian Mazeski,

Yes, I would like level 1 users to see all unarchived assets but only download certain assets. Most level 1 users are sales colleagues who should see what assets we have at hand but not be able to download them and get creative with them. Some assets such as presentation templates should be available to them also for download.

Have you created a share link for the collection and selected the option to permit download? That should bypass any restrictions on their user permission config.

Hi JakeHarvey, thanks for your comment. I have tried this detour. However, as level 1 users are generally set to not be allowed to download assets, they are automatically are logged in when they click on the link and thus cannot download the assets. I have to keep telling my level 1 users to open the link in a private window. Only then they can download the assets.
I was hoping there is a more convenient way to solve the issue.
