It would be great if we could have live links in our Print Brand Templates. A lot of our staff create PDFs with the purpose of emailing them and they need to have live links in there. Is this something Bynder is looking to add? I would also say having them on Digital Brand Templates could help, but that is less of a priority for us. Thanks!

Hi @andy so it is possible to retain the links from the inDesign file in a PDF generated via Bynder PBT. If you have set up links in the inDesign file, and you export the PDF from Bynder using a PDF preset that supports hyperlinks, then the PDF will have those hyperlinks. None of our default PDF presets have hyperlink support though, so you will need to upload a PDF preset of your own.

However, it isn't possible to change the hyperlink in Bynder. We can retain the links from the original inDesign file, but we don't have an interface that would allow the end user to change those hyperlinks to different hyperlinks, or to add a hyperlink to an element that didn't have a hyperlink in the initial inDesign file.

If you require the latter, then it's indeed a request for the product insights and I can submit this on your behalf.

@Ryanne Perry thanks, that is helpful to know. We would want the ability for users to add their own live URL to a doc (this would be where we designate a URL should go, but we would be ok with users being able to add their own URLs to other locations we hadn’t designated too). Thanks!

I’m just researching the abilities and drawbacks of Print Brand Templates, has this been resolved? So when exporting an online interactive PDF, can we add in hyperlinks within Bynder? @andy

Sort of @W.S.Lau .

So we can design a clickable url into our design, but it can't be changed. So users can't make unique URLs in the templates. And for the record the Print Brand Templates tool is the worst part of Bynder. I love Bynder as a whole, it's been a huge success for us, but the UI on the PBT is so ridiculously confusing and poorly designed, only our most advanced users can navigate it. They have been talking about updating it for 2 years, so hopefully they do sometime soon, until then, I don't recommend using it.
