Hi All,

PLEASE Can you help me figure out why I'm struggling to do this simple procedure.

I took over the Administration of our Bynder Portal at the beginning of this year and following a big push to get all our assets into Bynder, I now need to add a large amount of display files to a public collection my predecessor created before leaving. This collection is one of the tiles on the landing page of our Bynder Portal.

I pulled up all the "Display File" assets and began the process of adding them to the collection, however, I see every other collection option except the one I need.

I then did some research in the Bynder knowledge base and found the details to transfer ownership, so that I can have access to add more assets.

I began the process and as the Admin, I'm able to pull up the collection under my predecessor's name and I'm able to select it, and I'm able to start the transfer process, HOWEVER, when I need to select a name of someone to transfer it too, I don't find any of the names of the people in our Heavy user list that I'd like to transfer it too, to get this task done. I see many level 2 users, but I need access and there are another 2 Level 4 users that I would like to give access or ownership to for this public collection so that we can keep it up to date with all the new additions to our Bynder Portal.

Please can you help me achieve that goal?

I have a deadline on this and am pretty pressed for time, so I appreciate and advise that could help me to add to this collection.

Regards

Hi @Rui dos Santos, for clarification, when you type the names of heavy users into the system to transfer, nothing appears, but the names of light/general users do appear?

If you have access to your predecessor’s account, can you transfer ownership to your account? It should appear. If you don’t have access, you can have a CSM transfer ownership of the collection to you, if that helps.

Once you have ownership, you can grant Manage access to the level 4 users, which doesn’t give them ownership but allows them to add/remove content from the collection.

Also, can you currently access the assets in the collection from the tile on the front page? If so, you could theoretically grab those assets, throw them into a new collection, then in News Management, replace the old collection link with the new collection link.

Hope this helps. 😀 If not, let me know.

Hi Kevin,

Thank you for your response.

As the DAM admin, I'm able to pull up everyone's collection, by selecting their name, and I'm able to transfer ownership. where things get complicated is the next step, because a list of names appear that I can transfer ownership too, but somehow, neither my name or any of our level 4 users names appear. only some Level 2 users. I can't find the pattern yet of why only those users are selected, but I used my obstacle for a work around to get the job done.

I transferred the ownership from my predecessor to one of the Level 2 users that has created many collections and I asked her to share the collection with me and give me management rights to it. I was then able to add all the display files needing to be in this collection because it is one of the tiles on the front page that needs to stay up to day with all the new uploaded Display files.

I still don't have a solution to the problem, but I was able to achieve the goal for now.

I've reached out to the success squad who has passed me onto the Technical team, so I'm hoping to know more soon.

I welcome any other suggestions you may have that I should check or try.

Have a Stunning Day!

Ah, that makes sense. I’m guessing its a bug. I just tested in my instance. I can transfer ownership to users at different levels and to myself. Hopefully the Technical Team will have an answer for you soon.
