Is there anything in place where we as Bynder users/DAM managers can get “certified with Bynder” It might be a nice resume builder to be able to say we are a certified expert in Bynder. Just a thought

Hi @Jessica.berlin – I’m the Director of Customer Education at Bynder. While we don’t have a certification program yet, we’re actively exploring the idea.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on what you’d find valuable in a Bynder certification—whether that’s specific skills, topics, or video-based trainings. If you’re open to a quick chat, let me know, and I can reach out!

Anyone else interested in sharing input—feel free to comment as well. We’d love to gather as much feedback as possible!

Sure happy to have a chat about it.

Love this! Agree that a role-based cert (Bynder DAM admin) would be great to demonstrate proficiency in the tool as a whole, but it could also be valuable to have some smaller badges in specific product offerings like Bynder AI, CX User Community, Studio, etc.

Great point @Brian Mazeski! In the Community, we are also exploring how we will award badges for the categories you mentioned.

@Brian Mazeski - Let me know if you’re open for a chat to discuss in greater detail as well!

@brett.mcgaffigan Sure, count me in!

I would love to participate in this – certification instills confidence and trust. It’s also a good way to test knowledge and help identify areas that could use more training/provide resources to not only users and uploaders but to admins as well!

Amazing @kjanossy! I’ll send you email so we can find a time to connect.

Hi @brett.mcgaffigan,

I heard that Bynder offers certifications for consulting agencies, such as the "Admin for Bynder" certification. I remember seeing a post where someone shared their achievement of receiving this certification. Is this the same, or is it something different?

@vendula onisko - Bynder does offer a partner certification, but this would be for our customers. Let me know if you’re open to chatting!

Hi @brett.mcgaffigan,

I'm always happy to discuss things around Bynder, because at the end the results can help me to make my job easier :)

Yes, I’m very interested to see how this progresses. Would be great to have levels Admin and User, even though portals can be very different from each other they do operate in the same way and have the same DNA.

Our organization would certainly benefit from a certification program. A ‘tiered’ approach would be great, such as ‘Level 1: Basics’, ‘Level 2: Intermediate’, and finally ‘Level 3: Advanced’...etc. Basic could run through the day-to-day, intermediate is along the lines of security, admin level tasks, and Advanced could be API’s, SSO, Integrations...etc.

I’m also interested in this certification! Happy to discuss as well. Certainly as a resume builder - It would stand out! As an Admin of several Bynder DAMs over the years, I would agree with the tiered approach too, a Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced (Admin) certification.

Amazing! I’ve just sent direct messages to some of the more recent posters to coordinate a time to chat.

I’m especially eager to hear your thoughts on what you’d like to see included in each of these tiers. For Admin Basics, I was thinking of covering topics like managing the taxonomy and permissions (users, profiles, groups, access, etc.).

What are y’alls thoughts on this?

Hi @brett.mcgaffigan ,

Here’s some categories I think admins could benefit from for trainings:

  • Metaproperty creation and Management / Best Practices
    • Creation of metaproperties
    • When each metaproperty option is most optimal
    • Caveats with metaproperties (i.e. Changing a metaproperty or metaproperty option name doesn’t change the Database name
  • Advanced Metaproperty management
    • Creating Metaproperties with controlled visibility
    • Creating User Groups to drive visibility
    • Visibility Controls vs Access rights
      • Visibility logic
    • Creating Automations
  • Smartfilter Management
    • Creating Smartfilters
    • Smartfilter types and when to use them
    • Detailed understanding of the different options
      • i.e. Show image/icon, show counter, Z-index, Dependency, Multi-filter, etc.
    • Adding Icons
      • Using Font Awesome
      • Custom Icons (SVG/PNG)
  • Brand Guidelines
    • How to create brand guidelines and landing pages
    • Tips and tricks
      • Using SVGs as gradient background
      • Using SVGs with animation (CSS only)
  • Portal Customization
    • Creating links to specific filters (using the excel sheet)
      • Location of Metaproperty / Metaproperty database name
    • Home Page Customization
      • News Management
        • Display Types
        • Controlling Visibility
      • Additional Links
    • Portal Customization
  • Asset Properties
    • Advanced Rights
      • Limited vs Watermark
        • Request for Download
    • GIF display via Mark as online
    • Thumbnail creation
    • Version control
    • Derivatives / Auto derivatives
    • Related Assets
    • Custom Fields

Always happy to chat to go over Bynder Trainings

Hi @KevinMurphy,

This structure is awesome – seriously! As someone who's still fairly new to DAM, having training broken down like this would be incredibly helpful. Not just in terms of working toward certification (which is great on paper), but more importantly, it would really help me get a better sense of where I currently stand and what I've already mastered.

Thanks so much for sharing – it’s clear this reflects your many years of experience with DAM 🙂 !

I would be interested in “Training certifications”.  Like a required grouping of articles, short videos, webinars that teammates would need to complete.

We recently got a new person in admin role and they have been holding listening feedback sessions with our “Regular Users.”  They are hearing a lot of feedback on searching not providing what they expect. Most of their criticism is a training gap we have on searching best practices. Some is on us as Admins to make the metadata/taxonomy better.

We are excited to be making improvements based on feedback.  It would be super useful to get a basic orientation training module as a starting point?

P.S. HUGE SHOUT OUT to all the work the training team have been doing to update the Knowledge Base, Articles, screenshots, short videos, embedded training.  Over the years I have seen the articles transition from a sales & features opportunity into a robust self-serve educational, informative and comprehensive resource.  I see it and appreciate it. ✅
